Chimney’s require maintenance too , re-pointing chimney stacks help reduce the risk of instability and potential collapse . Securing the Chimney cowl can also be carried out as seen in this picture where the base of the cowls have been cemented securely into position. Slate is used to hold a flu vent in position to enable cement fillet to be added to complete the job and make it watertight & secure.
